Desert Basics

Desert Basics

shirt: pickwick & weller; jeans: joes vintage reserve (old, similar here and here); booties: vince camuto; flip flops: havaianas; jacket: j crew; necklace: initial; rings: david yurman (here, here and here)

I am constantly on the lookout for white tees. I’m pretty picky about them. They can’t be too thick or too thin. I prefer crew or scoop neck, but not too low cut. I was introduced to Pickwick & Weller last year and now have two tees and a tank. They are super soft and comfortable, reasonably priced and offer free shipping and returns. I’ve only had the white tee worn in these photos for a week. The real test will be to see if I get holes towards the bottom. I don’t understand the reason, but it always seems to happen. Is it just me or does this happen to you too?!

These photos were taken in Palm Desert over the weekend. It was my third trip to the area and I enjoyed it just as much as in the past. Palm Desert, which is 30 minutes east of Palm Springs, is beautiful this time of year. The weather was perfect. I spent time by the pool relaxing (reading this book until my iPad battery died) and fit in a 3 mile run each day. I had planned to show a little more of my new jacket from J. Crew in these photos, but the weather was so perfect I didn’t wear it much. Oh well, I promise to show it in another outfit post soon!

I’ve been trying to solve the “little holes on the bottom of my shirt” mystery for years. I can’t figure out what causes this, but it drives me nuts! Please let me know how this shirt holds up.

Maggie, I’ll definitely let you know! It is such a mystery. Doesn’t matter how expensive or inexpensive the shirt is…sometimes it happens after one wear!
