Holiday Gift Guide for the Fitness Fanatic

Today’s gift guide is for the fitness fanatic in your life.  Or maybe you’ll find something for yourself to inspire a new fitness routine as we head into 2014!

one: are you looking for a workout to get on track in the new year? i’d highly recommend checking out Insanity ($145). it’s hard, but you see results quickly, which always makes it easier to stick with it. At 2 months and 5 workouts a week, it’s realistic to fit into an a busy life.

two: the Patagonia Women’s Lightweight Zip Neck ($55) is a favorite of mine for hiking, camping or warming up after a run.

three: Garmin has a couple of new GPS watches, including the Garmin Forerunner 220 ($250) with additional features.  A GPS watch is one of my running must-haves…it’s great to be able to track your workouts (I’ve also used it for biking and hiking) and get instant pace and mileage.

four and five: Nike running shorts for him ($65) or her ($50)

six: Yes to Blueberries Facial Cloths ($6) for a quick refresher to keep your skin clear after working out.

seven: a Herschel Supply Co Novel Duffle bag ($80) to carry all your workout gear to and from the gym.

eight and nine: for the  yoga lover, a Yogitoes Skidless Yoga Towel ($50) and a small Lululemon towel ($18).  Both should be considered a necessity for any hot yoga class and I keep the small towel on my treadmill.

ten: the iFitness Pouch with Race Number Holder ($25) is a Runner’s World 2013 Gear of the Year award winner. The pouch holds your phone and energy packs, while your race number is attached to the belt instead of leaving holes in your shirt.
