Life Lately

Life Lately - 100 Days

I had a different post planned for today, but as it has lately, life got in the way. Instead I thought I’d share some recent photos and a little about what we’ve been up to.

Sybil keeps getting cuter and cuter every day. We had a mini-celebration of her 100th day when my brother visited at the beginning of the month. It was his first time meeting Sybil. He even rocked her to sleep!

Life Lately - Little Lady Sybil

An update on our little Lady Sybil wouldn’t be complete without a mention of her stomach issues or sleep. C’mon I know you’re on the edge of your seat! For the most part, her gas pains are gone. Yay!!! Her sleep on the other hand seems to have gotten worse, which I didn’t think was possible. She’s been making it a habit to wake up every 2-3 hours overnight, which is not okay with me. Could it be the dreaded 4 month sleep regression? Or the fact she’s decided to suck her 4 fingers (what happened to just a thumb)? We’ll likely never know. Hopefully she figures it out before I go insane.

Life Lately - Momma and Lawson

Lawson is finally starting to say some words with lots of prompting by his eager parents. Yes, we’ve resorted to bribery. Oh you want another french fry? Say “mama, more” and you can have one. He’s also making the related animal noises when we read books. His monkey is pretty great and he does a mean elephant impersonation.

The poor kid has had a rough 24 hours though. He fell off a stool while we were making ornaments. An hour later he fell between our bench and bed. He walked with a limp all afternoon. Nothing appears broken or even swollen so hopefully it will be fine in the morning. He’s still running around like the energetic kid he is so it’s likely breaking my heart to watch him limp more than it is painful for him.

We did manage to put up a few decorations and lights the past few days. No Christmas tree though. It’s probably the last year we can get away without having one for the kids. We just ran out of time. Oh well, call me scrooge if you want, I can take it.

Life Lately - Sunset Run

Jim got home early enough yesterday that I could head out for a quick run with Lawson before the sun went down. The weather was perfect. I’m pretty slow, but it felt great to run again. Another 2 months and Sybil should be strong enough to sit in a jogging stroller. Running with a double jogging stroller is right up there with things I never thought I’d do in my life. Oh how times have changed!

Christmas is in 10 days, how is that even possible?!?! We finally got our holiday cards yesterday and should have them in the mail soon. As long as they arrive before Valentine’s Day, I’ll consider it a success! Are you sending holiday cards this year?
