I was staring at my closet the other night trying to find something to wear to girl’s night. All of my summer tops are pretty casual – tee shirts and tank tops. I wanted to be comfortable, but a little dressier than my usual. I threw on a pair of M Gemi sandals I got on sale and my grey Chloe bag to go with my favorite jeans and a white tank. Jim thought I looked like I was going to a disco with my sandals.

Lawson is getting the last of his baby teeth – his 2 year molars. He’s been a whiny mess. I know it’s painful, but sometimes I just want him to be quiet. Last week we had a couple of bad episodes where I had to use every ounce of self control not to yell at him to shut the f-up. And then I feel terrible because he’s a kid in pain. My frustration is compounded by the fact he doesn’t talk very much. I know he knows how to say a ton of words. They sneak out occasionally when he doesn’t think about it. When you ask him to use his words though, he refuses. Most of the time I am very patient with him. I know he’ll talk more when he’s ready. Other times I find myself telling him to “use his words.” Just one of a number of things I never thought I’d say as a parent. Parenthood is not for the faint of heart (or patience)!
