Even if you live in a warm weather location, you’re likely to travel to the cold, winter weather at least once a year. And for that reason, everyone should have a classic pea coat in their wardrobe. It’s another wardrobe essential! Now is a great time of year to be looking for one as you can find some sales, especially if you’re willing to watch it for another couple of weeks. My favorite pea coat is the J. Crew Lady Day Coat (I own it in ivory as seen here). You can never go wrong with a classic navy or ivory. If you want to make a statement, go for red or coral.
For every day, wear your wool coat over a sweater, skinny jeans and heels. If you live in a really cold climate, pair it with your warmest sweater, scarf and a cute, but functional, pair of boots. I’ve loved these Sperry Topsider boots for years, but haven’t been able to rationalize that purchase yet! A pair of red Hunter rain boots would also look great with that outfit. It’s also the perfect length to wear over a dress and heels.
