Weekend Roundup

Weekend

The calendar may say September 1st, but it doesn’t feel like it. It’s been warmer than I expected the past couple of days. It does cool off at night, which is a welcome relief.

Do you have any fun plans for the holiday weekend? We’re relatively free of any set plans. Other than unpacking the two lingering moving boxes, I hope to spend the majority of the weekend outside. We may even brave the beach or a hike (or both!).

The biggest news from my week is that Sybil is walking! I’m so proud of our little girl. She’s been so close for weeks. I think she was waiting for her first birthday and to be with her daddy. She still crawls as her primary mode of transportation, but is standing up and walking more and more. It’s fun to watch. I swear she’s also started talking. That one is probably just me hearing things. I always joke she’s going to pass up Lawson unless he starts talking more soon. Maybe she will!

HIGH POINT:

There’s so much to explore in our area! This week we’ve had a picnic lunch at the La Brea Tar Pits & Museum, after dinner ice cream at the Grove (non-dairy for me and Sybil), story time at Barnes & Noble, and countless random walks outside. Last night I decided we were going to make it a Friday tradition to treat ourselves to a cupcake or cookie at a new spot.

LOW POINT:

I’ve been struggling to figure out what makes me happy. I think I’ve lost myself a bit the past couple of years since I became a mama. I’m slowly trying to figure it out and plan to share more on Monday.

FIND OF THE WEEK:

Another Friday tradition I’m intent on establishing…pizza for dinner! I usually buy pre-made dough, but we (okay, my mom) made this pizza dough recipe when I was at my parents and it looked so easy. I’m going to give it a try tonight.
