Weekend Roundup: No. 147

Weekend

Well I can’t say I’m sorry to see this week go. I think it’s safe to say this motherhood gig is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I’m ready to usher in the weekend. We’re kicking it off with our Friday traditions – mid morning treats (this week we’re trying out Milk Jar Cookies) and homemade pizza for dinner!

Tomorrow is pretty free of plans other than cleaning our apartment. Sunday there’s a kids fashion show and then a USC barbecue in the afternoon.

I’m slowly weaning Sybil from breastfeeding. She’s down to twice a day – morning and night. She wasn’t that interested in her mid-day feeding so we dropped it earlier this week. She got 2 new teeth this week. 4 more should follow soon, including another 3 molars. The poor baby has been so uncomfortable.

I got my new Simplified Planner this week (thanks Zack for the birthday gift)! I realize 2018 is still months away, but I’m ready to fill it up with important dates and my 2018 bucket list (which will look pretty similar to my 101 in 1001 days).

With the shift in seasons, it’s time to get Lawson some long sleeved shirts and pants. Finding pants that fit him is a huge challenge. He’s tall and thin. He’s been wearing size 12-18 months in his shorts and jeans from last year. They still fall down on him. If you have any suggestions on pants for skinny boys, send them my way!

Whatever you’re up to this weekend, make it a great one! And get lots of sleep for me… :)

HIGH POINT:

One of my best girlfriends booked a last minute trip to visit next weekend. I’m leaving Lawson and Sybil with Jim for 24 hours while we tour the city and stay in a hotel. I’ve declared it Operation: Keep Me Sane. It should probably be called Operation: Restore My Sanity because let’s face it, I’m already gone.

LOW POINT:

There have been quite a few low points in my role as mama, but instead I’ll go with Whole Foods being out of both green iced tea and donuts on Monday morning when I really need them.

FIND OF THE WEEK:

I’ve only been using it for a few days, but so far I love my new tinted moisturizer from Beautycounter. My requirements are light coverage and SPF. The dewy finish is an added bonus. (Yes, I am a new Beautycounter consultant…more to come on this soon. In the meantime, if you’re interested in the brand at all, let me know. I’m happy to answer any questions!)
