Yesterday we took a day trip to the island of Lanai. There are multiple ferries each day; we chose to get up early and catch the 6:45am ferry and were golfing at The Challenge at Manele Bay by 8:30am. Okay, Jim was golfing and I was settling into my role as caddy/photographer. The course is beautiful…ocean views from almost every hole. Afterwards we had the best meal of our trip and a couple of refreshing drinks at the clubhouse restaurant before checking out the beach at the Four Seasons Lanai. We even saw three whales on our ferry trips! It was a great day and definitely worth an early morning and the transportation costs. I’d highly recommend it if you’re looking for a short escape from Maui.
