Have you recovered from the fun and festivities of Christmas? And ready for more next week celebrating New Year’s Eve?! I love the holidays…I’ve already read a book (Where’d You Go, Bernadette) and saw a movie (American Hustle) and there’s still a week to go before “real life” begins again! I returned to the sunshine from the cold and snow in Minnesota. If you follow me on Instagram, you know my dad, brother and I continued our Christmas Eve traditional run even at -15. It actually wasn’t that bad!
This weekend I am…
- purging closets, cabinets and containers to make room for new gifts. Does anyone else find immense enjoyment in a good purging? It’s one of my favorite things to do! I may or may not drive others crazy trying to convince them to do the same…
- running 20 miles, which could be an even bigger challenge with all the goodies I’ve had this week
- checking out the post-holiday sales…I’ve got my eye on these cords (Anthropologie has an extra 25% off all sale items), Banana Republic has 40% off all items, including sale (this cape is a great price for a current trend), this skirt is a fun option for New Year’s Eve and these denim/leather jeans are almost in my price range
I saw this article about the co-founder of Bonobos recently and thought his perspective on leading and motivating teams, including his biggest failure, was insightful. I really enjoy reading about successful business leaders and am thinking about making it a regular focus here in 2014. As a huge fan of Bonobos, I’m so excited they are launching a women’s line, Ayr, next year. Can’t wait to try out their denim!
One last somewhat random item…I bought this market tote bag a few months ago for a co-worker that loves the phrase. And of course I had to get one for myself too. It makes me laugh every time I look at it!
I hope you have a great weekend whatever your plans!
