My Best Purchase of 2016

favorite purchases of 2016

Today I’m super excited to be hosting a link-up with other awesome bloggers! We’re all sharing our favorite purchases of 2016. The last time I participated in a link-up about our favorite purchases I got so many good ideas for my own wish list. Make sure you scroll to the bottom of this post and click on over to read more. I know I can’t wait to check them out!

I have to confess…I couldn’t narrow it down to my very favorite purchase so today I’m sharing my top 3 favorite purchases of 2016. What do a pair of sandals, water bottle and letter board have in common? They all made my life better in some way, whether that is elevating an outfit, motivating me to drink more water or putting a smile on my face.

First up are my Stuart Weitzman sandals (worn here, here, here and here). If you’ve been reading around here for awhile, you know I regularly clean out my closet and I had gotten rid of my wedge sandals. One of my more recent mantras is to focus on fewer, but better items. You may look at the price and think “well those are cute, but I would never pay that much for them.” Well neither would I! I love a good deal and have found almost everything eventually goes on sale if you’re willing to wait. When I saw them on sale at Stuart Weitzman for 50% off, my heart started to beat a little faster. But, wait they were final sale. What if I didn’t like them? Even at 50% off, they were still an investment. I didn’t want to take a chance that they wouldn’t fit or I wouldn’t like them. Enter Nordstrom’s price matching policy. Did you know if Nordstrom has the sale item in the same size, they will almost always match another retailers price? I even used a gift card from my birthday.

I love these Stuart Weitzman sandals because they elevate any outfit. I’ve worn them with a dress, shorts and jeans. They make my legs look longer and I feel more confident when I wear them. And when you spend most of the year pregnant, feeling good and confident is priceless. (They are now sold out at Nordstrom but if you’re interested in them, wait for Shopbop’s spring sale!)

Next up is my Swell water bottle. Every year it’s one of my goals to drink more water. I feel better and my skin looks better when I do. Swell water bottles are everywhere. I wasn’t sure if they’d actually live up to the hype. I’m here to tell you they do. Even during the Arizona summer when it’s above 100 degrees every day, water still stays cold for 24 hours in my Swell water bottle.

Finally, our Letterfolk letter board, which just might be my favorite home item EVER (we have the Poet in Grey). Sometimes I change it daily, other quotes stay up for weeks. It has listed our family mantra (we’re on the same team) and my Christmas wish list (flat abs and sleep). I also use it to document milestones for Lawson and Sybil. It honestly makes me smile every single time I walk past. I’ve been known to spend a Friday night reading through the Letterfolk Instagram account. Some people are seriously witty!

Now for the fun part…join me in reading about all of the other favorite purchases of 2016. Hopefully you’ll find another blog or two to inspire you and add to your reading list!
